LOOK.

Everyday, my daughter's teacher, a British, puts a story book inside her school bag. So the parent ( see, I put no `s' becoz only the mother who cares ) has to read the book together with the child, then to sincerefully sign at the `Parent Signature' column, indicated at the pink Reading card.

I found the book is so damn simple..only contains the word `LOOK'. I thought I have to be a proactive mother, that I asked my daughter to spell it as well, correctly, remember at heart. Proudly I scribbled a note in the card ` She's able to spell L.O.O.K as well'. The next day, I found the teacher replied, ` We teach the children phonetically, so don't spell. Thank you'.

Bummer.Grumbling, what? One alphabet per week! This week's letter is `S', for example. This school teaches American curriculum, anyway.

Yesterday, when I browsed the Yahoo Singapore news, I stumbled on the news..the headline was on how tough this year's mathematic test for 12 year old students.  The students cried after the test... and the reporters managed to snap their pictures and sent to the world to see. The parents marched and stormed out, why made it so hard to students.

Suddenly I realised Asian made the formal education so hard to the minors. Imagine, Malaysia proudly broadcasted about 20A's scorers.

Do you need twenty subjects in hand to be a future good technologist?  Americans don't do that, yet they head up the rocket science. No need to learn 20 subjects...just focus from very beginning..What 's the word, dear? SPECIALISATION.
